No Recourse to Fix

Most don’t think there’s anything they protect more rabidly than their reputation. When your reputation is compromised, a hidden truth made public, a confident remark refuted, a witty retort rebuked, you leap to attack the credibility of its critic. You sharply defend yourself.

When there is no recourse to fix the remnants of a perfect picture of oneself, anger is often the first instinct. Most want to be seen as cool, confident, assured. Never to be questioned. Always to be loved.

“Women may be drawn to ‘bad boys’, who demonstrate confidence, stubbornness, and taking tendencies. Second, sexual conflict may be at play. Woman sees a ‘bad boy,’ she thinks she can turn him into a ‘good boy’, the desire to tame the wild. Men fall in love with a woman the way she is, hoping she won’t change or even age. Women are instinctively nurturers; women fall in love with a man’s potential and try to change him; women expect a man to evolve, grow and change”.

Helping others and showing empathy is basic human nature. Doing an act of kindness feels wonderful for both the person doing it and the person on the receiving end. Even a small gesture can show a person that they are valued and appreciated. If you want to do good more often, that is great and very effective. The ideas on how to make a positive change to the lives of people around you will also help you.
